April Gym Mom: Jeremy Clark

April gym mom: jeremy clark
Introducing our Gym M.O.M. (Member of the Month) for April  2026 … Jeremy Clark!

We’re excited to celebrate Jeremy as our Member of the Month! Jeremy found his way to R3VIVE after losing a friendly race to a friend—what started as a little competitive motivation turned into a full-on commitment to getting stronger, moving better, and showing up consistently.

He brings a positive attitude to class, shows up ready to work, and reminds us that sometimes the best fitness journeys start with a little friendly competition.

Learn more about Jeremy below:

What made you decide to start functional fitness training?
It actually started with a wake-up call after losing a race to a friend. At the time, I hadn’t stepped foot in a gym in years, and losing was the wake-up call I needed to realize I was completely out of shape.

Are you a student/working professional/both? What do you do for a living?
I’m an HR professional for the Commonwealth, specializing in leave administration.

What are your hobbies/interests outside of the gym?
When I’m not training, I’m traveling, trying out new restaurants in Boston with my wife, or rooting for the Los Angeles Chargers (it’s a lifestyle).

What are some of your favorite movements?
I’m a fan of the big compound lifts, specifically:
Cleans, squats, and bench press.

What are your least favorite movements?
Easily Burpees and Thrusters. No contest.

What movement do you want to improve at?
Cleans. I’ve got my sights set on a 225lb 1RM.

What advice do you have for someone considering our gym?
Just do it. The coaches are incredibly knowledgeable and prioritize your safety above everything else. Plus, the community is awesome; everyone is genuinely friendly and wants to see you succeed.

What's your favorite "cheat" food?
Loaded fries.

What is your guilty pleasure?
Fantasy Football. I probably spend an unhealthy amount of time deep-diving into football podcasts.

Do you have any nicknames?
People call me JerBear, but I’ll answer to BigJerm or J-Money.

Tell us an interesting fact that we probably don't know about you!
I’ve been to the physical North Pole on a military deployment. It’s the one place on Earth that makes a Boston winter feel like a vacation in Mexico City. And arguably the only place where being a Chargers fan feels slightly less lonely!

P.S. If you found this helpful, share it with someone you know who's on one of these medications or is thinking about starting. Most people hear "you're losing weight" and assume everything is working perfectly. Now you know there is more to it and more for you to gain! Source: Metabolism — Clinical and Experimental, 2025

What is the March of Dimes? The March of Dimes is a non-profit organization dedicated to improving the health of mothers and babies, with a focus on preventing birth defects, premature birth, and infant mortality. Learn more about the March of Dimes here. Why is it important to us? We are excited to host a workout in support of the March of Dimes and the South Shore Hospital NICU team. My sister-in-law, Amanda Dougherty, and my nephew, Owen Dougherty, received a lot of care during Owen's premature and traumatic birth. Amanda and her family will be walking on the SSH NICU/SCN team in the March for Babies walk on May 9th, and we would love to support her by donating to the cause and helping other families in need. When's the charity class? We would love for everyone to come join us, no matter your fitness level, in support of this great cause. The class will be hosted on Sunday, April 12th, at 11 am. T-shirts will also be available for purchase as a preorder up until March 27th. All proceeds from registration of this event and profits from all shirts purchased will be donated to the SSH NICU/SCN team under Amanda Dougherty. Donate and Jump into Class If you would like to donate more, you can go directly to Amanda’s page and donate here.

Strength expression is our ability to show or utilize the strength we have. We call it expression because in the world of lifting, CrossFit, functional fitness, or training, our ability to show that strength varies. Even though our potential strength is the same, we are not always able to fully express it the way we want. Whether that is hitting a max back squat, doing heavy thrusters in a CrossFit style workout, or hitting that heavy clean complex when olympic lifting, we will not always be able to hit our maxes, this is because of factors outside of just our strength itself.
