MAy Gym Mom: Anne Barnard

May Gym MOM: Anne

Introducing our Gym M.O.M. (Member of the Month) for May 2026 … Anne Barnard!

We're excited to celebrate Anne as our Member of the Month! Anne found her way to R3vive after moving from Seattle in 2025, before starting her new job! We won out on that move, since Anne has been an amazing addition to our community. She shows up cheerful, suportive, and with an over abundance of energy and positive attitude!

Learn more about Anne below:

What made you decide to start functional fitness training?

I moved to Boston in March 2025 after 11 years in Seattle, and had some time before starting my new job. I talk to my patients daily about strength training, so figured it was the right time to start myself.

Are you a student/working professional/both? What do you do for a living?

I'm a family medicine doc.

What are your hobbies/interests outside of the gym?

Playing handbells (look us up: New England Ringers!). Cooking/nutrition. Keeping up with Kieran (my 5.5 year old).

What are some of your favorite movements?

Burpees. Running. The warmup squat song Bring Sally up.

What are your least favorite movements?

Echo bike

What movement do you want to improve at?

Any/all gymnastic

What advice do you have for someone considering our gym?

Just GO FOR IT. The community has been incredible

What's your favorite "cheat" food?

Mint chocolate chip ice cream from Trader Joe's

What is your guilty pleasure?

Watching Love is Blind with my sister

Tell us an interesting fact that we probably don't know about you!

I was a trekking guide in Xela, Guatemala for 4 months during med school. Good times.

Here at R3vive, we don’t prioritize competition; we believe in movements that foster a healthier tomorrow and promote longevity. But competition does have its benefits; embracing the intensity, camaraderie, and fun can help build the intensity and results you're looking for.
