Introducing our Gym M.O.M. (Member of the Month) for November 2024 … Ally Crowley (she/her/hers)!

We’re excited to celebrate Ally as our Member of the Month! Ally brings boundless energy and a positive spirit to every workout, and is a true example of how consistency pays off!

Her dedication to growth and consistency shines in every session, and she approaches each workout with a blend of focus and grace that’s truly inspiring. Ally’s commitment to staying strong, healthy, and balanced—both physically and mentally—is a testament to her determination.

Learn more about Ally below:

Q: What made you decide to start functional fitness training?
My mom! She convinced me to try a CrossFit class in my sophomore year of high school, and I ended up enjoying it so much more than I expected so I kept with it

Q: Are you a student/working professional/both? What do you do for a living?
I’m currently a junior undergrad at Wentworth Institute of Technology studying architecture and minoring in business management.

Q: What are some of your favorite things about R3VIVE?
My favorite thing is probably Delta and the other dogs that visit, but the community is also great and so so motivating:) I feel like the coaches are always really invested in my goals and do so much to help me grow as a person and athlete.

Q: What advice do you have for someone considering our gym?
I think I’d say to have a patient and open mind when learning new skills. A lot of movements– especially Olympic weightlifting –have steep learning curves that take a lot of persistence to work with. Have trust in the coaches and the learning process

Q: Tell us an interesting fact that we probably don’t know about you…
I played piano for 14 years! I haven’t played much since going to college but I’m excited to pick it back up.

Hey R3VIVE Athletes, Our next programming cycle runs from September 15th to November 7th. It's an 8-week cycle that will continue to see strength progression carrying from what we did last cycle in Functional fitness. While Pump will begin working unilateral strength progressions. Functional Fitness: This cycle will continue our progression from the skill and lifts from last cycle, while trying to integrate them into more of our conditioning. We will do this by focusing on different portions of the lifts during our strength portion then performing smaller sets of gymnastic skills in our conditioning. You will also see conditioning that is purely focused on our aerobic capacity and working mainly on monostructural elements, such as running, rowing and biking. Build: This A-B week cycle is designed to build foundational strength through consistent progression, with a strong focus on Back Squats and Strict Presses, including variations for balanced weekly training. Conditioning will have some longer aerobic pieces and begin to include more skills like strict Toes-to-Bar, and Pull-ups from last cycle. See the chart below for details.

Our next programming cycle runs from July 12th to September 12th. It's an 8-week cycle, so it's a bit shorter than the last one. We'll be bringing back some Olympic lifts and continuing with the A-B week progressions. The post Functional Fitness Training Block: Resurgence Cycle appeared first on R3VIVE FITNESS.

As we start our Fall cycle, we're embracing a more structured approach to our strength training. Mondays will focus on squats, Tuesdays on upper pulling and gymnastic skills, Wednesdays on pressing, and Fridays on the hinge and posterior chain. Let's gear up for progress this season!
